RØDE Raises the Bar

The latest videomic from RØDE is changing the game with revolutionary acoustic design and ultra-lightweight body

RØDE has introduced the VideoMic GO II, which joins its range of on-camera microphones.

The VideoMic GO II packs a lot of powerful technology into its ultra-compact body, incorporating the same acoustic design as the VideoMic NTG and NTG5 professional shotgun microphones. This means that it utilises RØDE’s unique annular line tube technology, allowing it to enhance the audio quality of the device it’s connected to for a truly rich sound.

You don’t have to worry about keeping stocked up on batteries, as the VideoMic GO II runs off plug-in or USB power. In another bid to keep things simple, this mic has been designed without complicated switches and controls – all you have to do is pick it up and plug it in, and you’re ready to record.

It works with practically any device, with the option to connect to a camera via a 3.5mm TRS output, or to a smartphone, tablet or computer via a USB-C output. This versatile approach makes it a great mic to use in a range of different contexts, from making podcasts to TikToks. You can even listen back to audio whilst on the go using the 3.5mm port when in USB mode.

The new microphone weighs just 89g and is incredibly compact, making it a handy little device to carry with you when shooting whilst out and about. Its small size makes it a good match for compact cameras, smartphone recording rigs, or with a desktop as a USB microphone. Though small, it’s also incredibly sturdy, with professional-grad shockmount a high-quality windshield, and a rugged metal body.

Using the USB to connect to a smartphone, tablet or computer, it’s also possible for users to access a whole suite of features through the RØDE app. You can find out more by visiting RØDE’s website.
