Photo & Video Show preview: Show docks in London
Posted on Mar 5, 2025 by Pro Moviemaker
This spring, the huge Photography & Video Show is on the move to the purpose-built Excel venue in Docklands for the first time
After ten years in Birmingham, the Photography & Video Show is moving to the Excel exhibition centre in London for 2025, running from 8 to 11 March. The show will return to the NEC in Birmingham in 2026 and will alternate between the two venues biennially in future.
It’s a great opportunity for the largest event of its kind in the UK and Europe, targeting photographers, videographers and content creators, to reach a south-eastern audience that has often been challenging to draw to the Midlands.
The event offers much more than just a trade show filled with new kit, boasting over 500 seminars, how-to demonstrations and business advice workshops for pros in both video and photography. It’s also more accessible than ever thanks to the Elizabeth line, connecting visitors directly from central London in 15 minutes and Heathrow in 30.
Featuring a massive line-up of exhibitors, speakers, workshops, live demos and networking opportunities, the Photography & Video Show 2025 will provide attendees with access to industry experts, cutting-edge gear and creative inspiration. Professional photographers, filmmakers, content creators and image-making industry representatives can apply for free entry to the show via the URL at the end of this feature.
If you’re a current or aspiring filmmaker looking for tips to boost the profitability of your business, get inspired to create your best work and explore the latest gear, this show is the place to be.
The event gathers over 250 brands on the exhibition floor, featuring major names like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Sigma, Sirui and Tamron. You’ll also find different accessory brands such as Tenba Manfrotto, Rode, Sennheiser, Amaran, Hollyland, Lumesca, Nanlite, Neewer and Zhiyun. Many exhibitors can offer exclusive show deals and promotions, along with opportunities to get hands-on with the latest technology.
In addition to legendary photographers David duChemin, Andy Gotts, Joel Grimes and Lindsay Adler, the event hosts a vast array of filmmaking talent from around the world. Film director Dan Thorburn, music filmmaker Dean Sherwood, DOP Jenny Alice, producer Oliver Wheeldon, FPV expert Steven Clarey and director Teja Lisjak are just some of the talented professionals from the world of movies sharing their expertise and enthusiasm through stories, demos and tutorials.
There are seven live studio areas, with the In Motion Studio particularly appealing to filmmakers. Sessions cover everything from the art of storytelling and selecting the right kit to capturing essential audio and mastering video editing, making this the place to be.
Presentations cover a range of topics, including cinematic filmmaking made easy, effectively filming with celebrities, music industry filmmaking, underwater wildlife shoots, B roll that rocks, dynamic dual-cam podcasting set-ups, making indie docs, navigating soundscapes in video production, choosing your vlogging gear and leveraging filmmaking skills to work with brands. We’ll see you there!

CreatorCon comes free!
Your ticket to the show also includes full access to CreatorCon, four days of non-stop action with top creators and influencers plus a hands-on Creator Playground to inspire your social media skills. With loads of kit to try – including lights from Amaran – you’ll learn a lot and be truly inspired.
The Creator Stage will feature a series of top speakers like producer Vikki Hutton, who brings over ten years’ experience creating video content for national women’s brands, from celebrity exclusives to sponsored partnerships. Leading an all-female team in London, she also runs courses for photographers looking to expand into videography. She’ll be sharing insights on how to set up successful video shoots and working effectively with celebrities.
Jon Gill, an award-winning filmmaker, has now delivered his unique Made On A Mobile training programme to over 1000 attendees since 2020. His highly acclaimed short films are screening globally, from Seattle to Sydney. A regular speaker on mobile filmmaking and storytelling, he will share his insights at the show.
To learn about post-production, look no further than Mandy Celine – a director, DOP and editor. She runs Breadbox Studios, a boutique production and post-production company specialising in digital content for creators and brands.
She is incredibly passionate about all things storytelling – and helping newer creatives from less traditional backgrounds break into the industry. When not on-set, she’s training for Adobe Live, teaching Premiere Pro or pitching one of her comedy pilots.
With other rising stars like YouTuber Tati Kapaya, Tamara Gabriel and Kym Moseley sharing their stories, this is where every aspiring YouTube star should go.
