Fujifilm has expanded its acclaimed X Series with the launch of the FUJIFILM X-M5, the lightest model in the lineup to date, designed for photographers, vloggers, and content creators. Weighing just 355g, the X-M5 combines portability with a powerhouse of features, delivering top-tier performance in a compact body.
Equipped with Fujifilm’s back-illuminated 26.1-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor and the X-Processor 5, the X-M5 is optimised for both still photography and video.
Its AI-powered subject detection autofocus (AF) system recognises and tracks a wide array of subjects, from animals and vehicles to drones, and even functions accurately in low-contrast settings. This versatile camera also offers high-resolution 6.2K video recording at 30 frames per second, as well as 4K/60P and slow-motion 1080/240P options, making it a versatile tool for creative video content.
The X-M5 introduces an enhanced VLOG Mode, allowing creators to seamlessly shoot 9:16 vertical video, tailored for social media sharing. The camera’s high-performance built-in microphones, with selectable directionality, offer advanced audio recording, while an intuitive touchscreen interface simplifies the filming process. For photographers, the camera’s Film Simulation dial features 20 colour profiles, emulating classic film tones and enabling users to experiment with various colour effects on the go.
Fujifilm has also launched several compatible accessories to complement the X-M5. The FAN-001 cooling fan enhances the camera’s performance in high-temperature conditions, ideal for extended shooting sessions, while the TG-BT1 tripod grip offers stability and flexibility for both vlogging and photography.
The FUJIFILM X-M5 will be available in black or silver, launching in the UK on November 14, 2024. The camera body will retail at £799, with a starter kit including the XC15-45mm lens priced at £899. Accessories, including the cooling fan and tripod grip, will also be available for £169 each.
Content creators can find the X-M5 and its accessories at Fujifilm’s House of Photography in London or online.
