New Telephoto Lens Enhances GFX Series with Superior Portability and High Performance
Fujifilm has announced the Fujinon GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR lens, a new addition to its lineup of interchangeable lenses for the GFX Series.
Touted for release in June 2024, this lens promises to expand the shooting range for photographers by offering a super telephoto option that combines lightweight design with powerful image stabilisation and fast autofocus.

- Super Telephoto Capability: The GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR boasts a focal length of 500mm, equivalent to 396mm in 35mm format, making it the longest lens in the GF series to date. This can be extended to 700mm (equivalent to 554mm in 35mm format) with the separately available Fujinon Teleconverter GF1.4X TC WR.
- Lightweight Design: Despite its powerful telephoto capabilities, the lens weighs approximately 1,375 grams, enhancing portability for photographers on the move.

- Fast Autofocus: Utilising an internal focus system and a linear motor, the lens delivers quick and silent autofocus with a minimal delay of approximately 0.31 seconds. This ensures accurate and rapid focusing, essential for capturing fleeting moments in sports and wildlife photography.

The Fujinon GF500mmF5.6 R LM OIS WR will be available in the UK from June 17, 2024, through authorised Fujifilm retailers, the Fujifilm House of Photography in London, and the Fujifilm online store for £3,499. The Fujinon Teleconverter GF1.4X TC WR will be available for £749.
