Fujifilm GFX100RF fixed-lens camera announced

Posted on Mar 20, 2025 by Pro Moviemaker

Fujifilm has announced the launch of the GFX100RF, the first fixed-lens camera in the GFX system lineup

The GFX100RF will become the first fixed-lens camera in Fujifilm’s GFX system. The company announced the new camera at a launch event in Prague today.

The GFX100RF takes its inspiration from the existing X100 series of APS-C cameras, with a retro rangefinder look and external dials. However, on the inside, it uses the same 102MP CMOS medium format sensor and X-Processor 5 combination that can be found in the GFX100S II.

The most notable new feature is the inclusion of an external aspect ratio dial, which allows photographers to switch between nine different aspect ratios on the fly. This new dial sits within a brand-new top plate that is made from precision-milled aluminium – a first for Fujifilm.

The camera’s newly developed 35mm f/4 leaf-shutter prime lens offers a fixed equivalent full frame focal length of 28mm. However, there is also a digital teleconverter switch that makes the most of the camera’s high resolution, allowing you to switch to 45mm, 63mm and 80mm (36mm, 50mm and 63mm full-frame equivalent).

The EVF featured on the camera offers 5.76m dots of resolution. There is also a two-way tilting LCD monitor for high/low angles and video work.

On the video side, the camera is capable of 4K/30p footage and uses AI subject detection AF and tracking. It also supports 4:2:2 10-bit video and is compatible with camera to cloud wireless transfer technology.

The GFX100RF measures 133.5mm (w) x 90.4mm (h) x 76.5mm (d) with a minimum depth of 37.2mm. It weighs 735g, making it the lightest in the GFX System.

The camera will be available at a cost of £4699, with shipping dates yet to be confirmed. Visit the website for more information.
