Dress up a scene with these lighting solutions stylish enough to show up in your shots

Practical lighting is all about using light sources that actually appear in the frame of the shot. These can look like household lamps, fluorescent tubes, neon and much more. They are about adding controllable light to a scene, giving it depth and realism.

As is so often the case, LED now dominates, from bulb-style lights which screw into household power sockets to tube lights and small panels hidden in tight places.

Many are full colour with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, app or even DMX control, which is useful when the units are hard to access. So read on for a showcase of the best and most useful practical lights at a range of price points.
