Atomos has launched its biggest ever monitor recorder at a whopping 19" size! It's the first production monitor recorder that records 4K 12-bit Raw, 10-bit ProRes/DNxHR, plus 1080p60 live switching and recording. It's an HDR-capable monitor with 1200 nit brightness so is ideal for on location and heralds a new era in HDR-ready equipment for use in filmmaking. The official info says: 

Manfrotto has revealed a brand new design of tripod head that not only looks very different, but uses new technology in different ways. The brand new Nitrotech head is suitable for lots of different types of cameras, easy to set up and use, offers easily adjustable control over camera motion and solves many of the headaches of using tripods for filmmaking. Such as finding and maintaining perfect counterbalance for the huge range and size of cameras.

Manfrotto’s N8 Nitrotech video head is the first model to be revealed in the range, and costs just £449.95. It’s on sale now.

It is also available in a range of kits with Manfrotto’s well-established tripods. With the 535 Single Leg tripod the whole kit is £1119.95, and 546GB Twin MS tripod it’s £959.95. Both are available now.

A Nitrotech N8 with 536 Single Leg tripod is £1279.95 while the 546GB Twin GS is £959.95 and both these will be available to buy in May/June. The official press release says:

High Dynamic Range may be the buzzword of the moment for video right now, but there have been very few affordable consumer output device like TVs that can cope with it. Sony has now announced its European pricing for its new Bravia 4K HDR TVs, which start at £3500 for a 55-inch OLED model in the UK. The screen is very thin and the OLED technology gives a much more detailed, rich picture. The official information says:

Atomos is offering a free CDNG Raw upgrade for users of its Shogun, Shogun Flame and Shogun Inferno monitor recorders. Atomos say it's the first time any manufacturer has offered CDNG Raw format recording free. The official information says:

Atomos has revealed new Ninja Inferno monitor/ recorder with many of the features of the top-of-the-range Shogun Inferno but at virtually half the price.

The Ninja Inferno lets you record 4:2:2 10-bit output at 4K 60p of the new Panasonic GH5 via HDMI .

The Ninja Inferno, which costs $995 but £1050 inc VAT in the UK, records ProRes or DNx at up to 60p and also provides XLR audio in and out via an optional breakout cable. The official information says:
